Enhanced Insights API

The Enhanced Insights API, also called the LERG / LRN lookup, is a web service that returns LERG and LRN data for a telephone number: the operating company, OCN, line type (prefix type), rate center, LATA, and routing number.

This API requires an API key. Find your key on the Organization settings page of the Smart Carrier dashboard. If you cannot find it, contact support@smartcarrier.io.

What do these values mean?

Response fields

Field	Description
`RequestGuid`	A unique identifier assigned to this request.
`AccountGuid`	The account associated with this request.
`PhoneNumber`	The telephone number queried.
`E164FormattedNumber`	The E.164 representation of the telephone number.
`CountryCode`	The country the phone number is associated with.
`RequestingIP`	The IP which initiated the request.
`LERG`	The Local Exchange Routing Guide record for the number. See LERG fields.
`LRN`	The Location Routing Number lookup for the number. See LRN fields.
`RequestedAt`	When the request was received (UTC).
`ProcessingTime`	Total time to complete the request, in milliseconds.
`ApplicationVersion`	The version of the service that handled the request.
`ReturnStatus`	Outcome of the request: `Success` or an error status.
`ReturnCode`	HTTP status code for the outcome.
`Module`	The Smart Carrier module that handled the request (`EnhancedInsights`).

LERG fields

Field	Description
`RequestGuid`	A unique identifier for the LERG lookup. It differs from the top-level `RequestGuid`.
`RoutingNumber`	The Location Routing Number (LRN) for the number range.
`NPA`	Numbering Plan Area (area code).
`NXX`	Central office exchange code (prefix).
`Block`	Thousand-block designation.
`USState`	Two-letter state or territory abbreviation of the rate center.
`Company`	The operating company name for the number range.
`OCN`	Operating Company Number, a 4-digit identifier for the service provider.
`RateCenter`	The rate center assigned to the exchange.
`CLLI`	Common Language Location Identifier code for the destination switch.
`Assigned_Date`	The date the code or block was assigned. `null` when no date is on record.
`PrefixType`	Line type classification, such as `WIRELESS`.
`SwitchName`	The switch designation for call termination. Empty when not on record.
`SwitchType`	The switch type. Empty when not on record.
`LATA`	Local Access and Transport Area code.
`Country`	The country of the destination.
`TollFree`	`true` if the number is toll free.
`IsValid`	`true` if the lookup returned a valid LERG record.
`RequestedAt`	When the LERG lookup ran (UTC).
`ElapsedMilliseconds`	Time the LERG lookup took, in milliseconds.
